The black tank sits really nice, looks classic and fits in your bike great! I have a fiberglass tank too and do not use it due to ethanol in the US gas. Ive heard people who swear by caswell and POR tank sealer used on metal tanks but i have not researched it for use with fiberglass tanks.

Don't use POR 15 tank sealer in a glass tank, it's crap. (other POR 15 products are good)
I used Hersch tank sealer, works well so far, but I don't use fuel with ethanol and drain the tank if I'm not using the bike for a while.
I've heard good things about Caswell.

I used Caswell's to seal my tank, it is Carbon Fiber but the resin is epoxy. So far about three years and no issues with California gas. Similar to Graeme I do drain the tank and leave the cap open if I am not riding for several weeks. It may not be necessary but makes me feel better. I have run 110 octane race gas and Blendzall 485P at the Dry Lakes speed events as well, so it seems pretty good.

Good looking start to your project.

I actually have the Caswell Dragon Blood in the plastic tank of the S2R1000.

I made it from scratch. There is a pretty good explanation on the thread just above. "Mike MC carbon tank".
