They do look promising! Anyone have experience with these tires or this brand generally?

What model/size?

I have a Mach1 Replica, It came with Pirelli City Demon 3.00x18 front & 3.25x18 rear. They are a little large but fit fine, Would love a 2.75 front & 3.00 rear. They seem to be a hard enough (Non Race) tire that has good where and traction. I think they came from Road&Race in AU

You can't have an original front fender then. There's absolutely no way I can get a 2.75 on the front, let alone a 3.0 :|

One other option could be running a widecase front fender? Does anyone know if they will fit, and if there is more tire clearance?

Ok, it looks like these are my only options.

Heidenau K40R:

The Heidenau K40R is the race compound. The K40 is street compound. I have a Heidenau 19" front on BMW, quite pleased with the product. No experience with other Heidenau tires. There's also a 2.50-18 for the CB50R available from Honda. This is probably the BT-39SS shown on the Bridgestone website. Could use this on the front and the 100/90-18 on the rear.

What are you planning for the rear then? I was hoping Heindenau had a matching rear, but no joy.

There's a guy in Sydney who does race tires so I'm trying to get him to track something down for me.
He recommended the Sava MC11 in 2.50-18

But I've read mixed reviews on the Sava's in general so I'm a bit hesitant.

The BT39SS's are infact the tire spec'd on the Honda CB50R (Dream 50) and the Honda part number is: 42711-NX1-003
I'll phone my local Honda dealer tomorrow and get a price/availability.

The K39 would be the logical choice for the rear to pair up with the K40 front.
It's available in 2.75-18

The Heidenau K39 looks more of a front pattern to me. I’d choose the K33 but the smallest size is 3.00-18.

The BT39SS is $84.75 from Honda in the USA.

Avon makes a 80/90-18 front. Did you try that one as well? Those German tires look good and the price is right so I might give those a go next time. Avons are so pricey and wear pretty fast but as long as you don't square them out I dont see why they won't make it through the Giro. My Honda 400/4 was about to crack 5k before I sold it. They were low but still feel great.
Also go with a monza fender before a widecase front. Thats what I did and only a very few can spot the differences. I've had a 3.00 with no problem.

I'm a bit hesitant to splash out on those Avons without knowing if they'll fit. My dad has a Monza fender tucked away in his shed somewhere so I'll see if he can dig that out for me to try. Hopefully it's not the square looking one.
