Bronco Resto-conversion

A few years ago, I traded some work on a '69 Triumph for several boxes of Ducati Bronco 125. It sat around in it's disassembled state for quite a while, and I looked through what I had of it and decided since a lot of the original parts were beyond repair, a strict restoration would be just too problematic. So, I ended up with this! I plan to make a few posts about this project, so stay tuned.
There were many challenges, not least of which was the electrical and ignition system. I ended up replacing all of it, and converting to 12 volts from the original 6 volt system. Powerdynamo, in Germany developed a very, very nice 12 volt system just for this project. I don't get a commission from them, nor do I sell their systems, but I do highly recommend their work. In comparison to the old system, the new one is thoroughly modern with features that are not possible in the old system. The new system includes coil, plug wire, regulator/rectifier, rotor, stator, CDI (which allows 16 different spark advance profiles - cool, because the original system was static advance, no variation in the ignition timing vs. rpm), and all the related wiring to hook into the the lighting harness, etc.
