Speedometer identification

Postby Chuck » Mon Nov 05, 2012 9:47 pm

Are these speedometers from the same years? I have the one in the headlight shell and it is a 66 Monza.

Thanks, Chuck

Hi Chuck

i am by no means a expert on speedometers but the bottom one is a later type i think .
seen them on widecase scramblers .

the borletti is missing on the face and the top ring that holds the glass ( or plastic ) is flat and has grooves in it

To the best of my knowledge the 150MPH speedometers used on mid 60's Mach 1s had the grooved bezel and the 150mph speedos used on widecases in 1969 and beyond had the smooth bezel. That would make the one with the grooved bezel the older one.
