will someone please measure their center stand and tell me how tall it is. i need to know the difference in length between the scrambler and a roadbike.
mine measures 9 1/2 tall from the bottom of the feet to the top of the pivot tube. it will not work on my 450 scrambler it doesnt reach the ground looks like its an inch too short.
the shocks are 12 1/4 long
thanks

Re: widecase center stand length
From the approx center of the swingarn shaft to the bottom of the swing arm... 11 1/4 inches. I also have a 70' 350 Scambler.. that was missing the centerstand when I purchased it... so after I scored a centerstand from a not so local cycle boneyard (250 miles round trip)... I installed it
and found it was short...
so I took a section of heavy steel pipe.. cut to the same width as the bottom of the stand... cut and removed a section between 10 and 2 (clock face) and welded.. since this was not a show piece.. it worked... Hope that helps...

Re: widecase center stand length
thanks for the info, so just to be clear you measured your modified center stand?
i have no problem doing what you did and welding a piece in to make mine longer, i just want to know why i need to do it first. i would like to know how long a scrambler center stand is VS say a mk 3
thanks

That is the stock length for my 1970 450 Jupiter.... I only added (welded) a section of steel pipe to the 1970 350. I'll try and post a photo later.

ok, thanks i guess mine was off my dads MK3 and not his scrambler, mystery solved. i will decide what to do about it later, i hate to cut up something if i don't have to.
thanks for checking on that for me.

Re: widecase center stand length
You shouldn't have to cut the center stand... just add a section of steel pipe... and later even that can be removed if needed.... Since this is Minne-cold-DUH I'm move'n all of the toys to storage this weekend and will be able to take a photo prior to winter slumber. I'v noticed that the photos on this site download very large and even cuts off half of some of them... ideas..?...
