It took me a dozen kicks last weekend with a mate laughing till he got tired and suggested I turn the ignition on,,,,

Re: Now, who hasn't done this?
I could mention the time that I was down at a country historic racing event and about to leave...
I had ridden my Darmah down there (about 300km away) and it wouldn't start. I took all the body work off and plugs out and all sorts of things before realising I had unknowingly knocked the kill switch off.
Sheepish and humble wouldn't describe it.
But I haven't mentioned this...

Along the same lines, i rode my 250 Cafe up to Alices in woodside awhile back. Lots of bikes to check out, when i went to leave, started the bike and the throttle was stuck wide open. Open megaphone screaming kinda got everybodies attention. In the few seconds i was thinking how to kill the bike. NO key NO kill switch, I always let out the clutch to kill it. Tried to choke off the aircleaner, that did not work. So i put it in gear and dumped the clutch. Both feet on the ground, laid out over the front of the bike, still did not help as i did a giant wheely for about 10 feet and set it down cleanly. To say the least this caused a little attention and alot of embarassment on my part. Felt like a real rooky even though i been riding for about 50 years. It seems like it took a long time for all this to unfold but it was a few seconds. Got everything squared away and rode away fine but it sure was a scene................. I have a kill switch and a working key now.
