2-stroke engine assembly question - Falcon 50

Postby ajleone » Wed May 16, 2012 10:38 am

Not sure if there are any 2-stoke owners on this list, butI figured I would start here.

Does anyone know if there is any sort of retaining device for the clutch release lever ? From the parts diagram it appears to be only an o-ring seal and no retaining clip, so it should just right out of the engine case ? The reason why I ask is that I am going to have the top of the case repaired and I want this lever removed. Ironically enough, the 50 SL/1 that sold at the Salterelli auction (for about $11K USD) had the same damage on the topd of the engine case - looks like a common thing when the chain breaks. Maybe I should just leave the case alone since it is purely cosmetic.

Any thoughts on the repair idea or assembly removal ?
Tony
