wheel offset

Postby 3564cam » Tue May 08, 2012 10:56 pm

Hi ,
I had a company polish and rebuild the wheels from my 450 Scrambler. The job looked fine even though it took nearly 10 months. My problem is that the front wheel, when assembled, doesnt sit in the middle of the forks so the mudguard doent fit.I have found another wheel builder who is happy to sort this for me but he wants to know if this wheel has any offset to one side.He has done Duke wheels before and reckons there is no offset so the middle of the drum runs in the middle of the wheel. So can anyone please confirm this for me please before I give him the wheel.Oh and it goes up and down egg shaped too.Bit like a laurel and Hardy film stunt
Regards
Steve

Steve,
The wheels should have no offset as far as I'm aware.
And they work better if they are round.

Graeme
