Hello boys:
Yes that gear, 2 dots, is the gear I'm talking, if you don't have de precaution to note the position sou have the you will be like me, and if you have another problem you will be confused, is for that I want to be sure before change the gear position. In the 24h and spanish Road 250, I'm sure there is not more than one dot at the top the distribution.
The thikness of the base plate is calculate as follows (66-57.8)=8.2; 8.2/2= 4.1. then the base plate has 4 mm thick
I'm waiting for some hollidays to reestart with the engine, it will be next week.
I've notice that you know more than "T" Doctor about the Ducatis and I don't know if you need to know something about the spanish Ducati, it will be a pleasure to help you if I can.
Thanks Elder for the pictures, thank Bob for your patience.
Juan

____ Juan, while I do indeed know a good deal about DUCATI OHC-singles, I sure don't know more than 'Dr.T' !!! _ As nobody should possibly know as much as Dr.T did, as he was the original designer of the OHC-motor for Ducati !
Perhaps your actual meaning was lost in the translation to English.
Juan, you are to be commended for your ability to use English (in addition to your native language), however, your use of English-wording is not quite the same as English is used here in the U.S.A., thus it is not always very easy to understand what you're meaning to say/state. So could you please help, by checking your spelling before you actually post your statements?
And I hope you don't mind when I convert your wording into English-structure that is better understood for those of us who English is our primary language.
Thanks,
-Bob

Hi Bob
i know where Juan is coming from . i live in a old country to the Netherlands and let my tell you conversating in english
is pretty easy . trying to explain something in technical english is awfull hard if its not your native tong
running babblefish over it only makes the translation worst so thats not an option . so dont worry about it Juan .
keep on asking questions and we will try to answer them
BTW happy holidays to all of you out there and lots of troublefree miles ( or kilometers ) in 2010
Regards Eldert

Re: MAKING CHANGES IN A 24 HORAS
____ It's nice to finally get word from you once again JPALOMO !
Wish you had kept us periodically-updated on the details of your unique engine-project !
What is the current bore & stroke of your engine now?
" The tank is made in fiberglass and I need to cut it at the botom because the head is too big and it knoch the tank,
the problem is I'm afraid of to have an explosion and I don't know how to cut it. "
____ That your fuel-tank comes into contact with the top of your motor and may therefore cause a fuel-leak to develop and then leak fuel onto your engine is indeed a problem to avoid but, it will not cause your fuel-tank to have an "explosion" . _ At worst, the fuel could possibly just catch on fire,, but just a mere leak of fuel alone, is more than reason enough to be concerned about your unwanted contact issue !
__ I'm sorry that I do not have any experience to offer you on how to cut-away & reshape the area of your tank which is over-contacting your engine-head.
I can only suggest that instead of trying to do any such complex work of reshaping your glass-tank, that you instead simply lift up the rear-end of your tank by stuffing a few pieces of rubber (such as inner-tubing) between your frame's backbone-tube & the bottom of your tank, so as to lift your tank up & away from any contact with your engine-head.
__ That' s what I've always done to solve any such clearance-problems, when-ever any of my fuel-tanks ended-up being too close to the top of the cyl.head.
____ How about posting some pix -(pictures) of this DUKE-project of yours and of the fuel-tank clearance-issue which you're having with it, for us all to see!?
Hopeful-Cheers,
-Bob

Re: MAKING CHANGES IN A 24 HORAS
Hello boys: Now the bore is 74 and the stroke is 66. When I started the engine it was to noisy, and with a lot of smoke. I make a revision of distribution tower clearence and now is much better, also I revise the points clearence and now it started o.k. with no much noise. I will give you some pictures with details of reparations.
Thanks for the idea, I will try to do it. And dont dubt I will be happy to show my bike.

____ Sounds cool & very interesting ! _ Your engine-project is very close to the 76X66mm 300cc motor-project that I had always wanted to build, (but only needed a 66mm-crankshaft to complete) !
Do you know what the length of your con.rod is?
DUKE-Cheers,
-Bob

Syd's cycles
(727)522-3333 is correct.
Call often, and in the middle of the week, Malcom and son go racing a lot, so they have travel time. Call between 9:00AM and 4:00pm eastern (New York) time.

Hello Bruce, thankyou very much for your help, I will try again, here a picture of 24 horas with many modifications from the original: Brakes, fork, shocks-sorbers, wheels, seat, pedals, foot-rest...and in the engine a piston 76mm bore (300 cc) and a 30 mm carburetor
