Are Ducati Singles Loosing Value

Ian, that clutch lever is not on the original perch, I bought a new old stock matched pair of Ducati 600 monster front brake master cylinder and lever and a complete clutch perch and lever. The guy I bought them from bought them new but didn't use them for a cafe racer project????
I'm not 1000% sure if these are std. Ducati parts but that's how they were sold to me. Hope that helps.

Thanks George. That’s useful - I’m running a modern Brembo PS13 master cylinder which gives much better feel than the the PS15 originally on there (but is only available with a dog leg lever). I’m just looking at options to match the levers - either both straight or both dog leg.

Hi Graeme, At the risk of going away off topic here its a much modified 1934 Morris 8 rolling chassis with my own body on and an 'alta' ohv head converted 918cc (ex sidevalve) engine. Cheers George

Sad postscript here is that Made In Italy Motorcycles have closed down, which reflects the times that we live in really. I check their website occasionally and it was obvious that nothing was selling, then they began selling bikes on eBay at a knock-down price, to unload stock.

Nice machinery, but the prices! Their trading bubble has unfortunately burst, but I am not surprised. At least Neil is going to continue offering a workshop service, which is a positive.

I wonder what happened to the Laverda 750 SFC they had lurking in stock for eons? Always fancied a shot, but have been told that they are quite "brutal" to ride? C'est la vie!

I have just been onto eBay and see that the above Laverda, is up for sale/auction at approximately half the price "Made in Italy Motorcycles" were trying to retail it for! eBay item number:306042201735

However, I think I'll stick with my 450!

Hi Bill,

Yes, they had a gorgeous restored Ducati 750GT for sale for about £35000 and finally they sold it through eBay for about £25000. I fancied it myself, and hoped that my Premium Bonds would hit the jackpot, but afraid not.

There are dealers still trying to find buyers for Ducati Scramblers and Mark 3's at £8000 but they have no chance now.

£4K to £6K, would seem more the mark these days and how "original" and "sqeaky" it is! As you would expect the "original" and "sqeaky", do not equate to price in my mind, it's what somebody will give you for it that counts when it comes to price and how desperate for the cash you are.

With Eldert on the SFC Bill. When I was in my twenties and riding a 200 Ducati road racer (with a stoplight and number plates) on the road as my everyday bike a good friend had an SFC which I had quite a few runs on.......before I rode it I loved the look of it and frankly how rare and exotic it was (at the time) however in reality it was quite a handfull......heavy, odd steering, and a kind of 'on/off' engine power delivery. maybe it was a bad one? but I stroked it off the wanted list .
