Re: Compression Release
I think the Sebring had a compression release with screw type adjusters on their rocker arms. Maybe someone can confirm.

Re: Compression Release
Dunno about the Sebring, Frank, but my Vento has screw type adjusters ... and a decompressor (as you know
)

Re: Compression Release
Thanks Jordan and Vevtodue. Now I have to go searching for a spring and washers that will work.

Re: Compression Release
Jordan - The first illustration that you posted may be a bit misleading. It seems to show that the washer and circlip is outside the valve cover. I've assembled those pieces inside the valve cover so that the pin and spring cannot be removed without removing the circlip. Correct me if I'm wrong. Also, as I've mentioned before, the rockers are not the standard shim type but rather screw type and therefore the profile is different. I've had to shorten the pin for it to work so that the valve cover will fit to the gasket. - Frank

You mean the exploded drawing?
I can't remember the order of assembly, but you've figured it out.
Well done for discovering the needed modification to suit your adjustable rocker.

Re: Compression Release
Hi all, I'm picking up this thread again, (sorry) I have a 450 springer engine with a valve lifter installed and I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this. If what Jordan is saying is correct, pulling the lever at the bar end (in this case, it's a choke lever type thing) the steel cable pulls back and the valve lifter lever drops down onto the plunger, releasing pressure in the combustion chamber? So the sheathing is what's pushing down on the lifter mechanism? Thanks, Terry

Re: Compression Release
Exactly, or you could say the outer sheath is the rigid brace against which the inner Bowden cable runs through… As you pull the handlebar lever the cable pulls the decompressor lever down which in turn pushes the exhaust valve open against its spring.
I’ve left mine off my 350 as I’ve put a soft compression on
