Guys thanks for your interest in helping me out. I am really grateful. I will be able to get to the testing in a few days because of a demanding work schedule this week. ( I am also having trouble attaching photos, system says files are too big)
best regards,
Jim

M1/Battery-type Headlight on Mk-III/Batteryless-type System

____ If you'll email your over-sized digital-pix to me, I'll then re-size them to fit our web-pages' optimum-setting.
My e.address is: RobHan548@hotmail.com .
____ Assuming your alt.wire-circuits will test-out ready to go,, for your self-made wire-harness, you ought begin sourcing 16-gauge (preferably very-fine copper-strand type) wire, with insulation-jacket colors of: black; red; white; yellow, in lengths of at least 4, to 10ft long.
__ The Red-alt.wire shall be extended-up into the headlight-bucket/shell and become connected to the headlight-switch (by terminating-to the 'C' plug-terminal on the terminal-board).
The Yellow alt.wire shall also be extended-up into the H.L-shell, but become connected to the key-switch (by terminating-to the 'B+' plug-terminal on the terminal-board). _ And from the key-switch's (ign.output circuit) terminal-board plug-terminal -(labeled 'SP'),, (I-myself would prefer a yellow&white colored wire, but you can use either solid color), your chosen wire-color will run-back to the ign.coil .
Those are your major wiring-scheme alterations (from that of a stock n-c Mk3 wiring-scheme), for adapting a Mach-I's stock headlamp-wiring to your Mark-3's (battery-less type) wiring-system !
The rest of your rewiring-project may remain pretty-much the same as the original/stock n-c Mark-3 type of wiring-scheme, (which I'll also go-over & cover for you, whenever you're ready).
__ However if you wish to install a horn and also run a brake-light that works just-like a 'brake-light' is EXPECTED to work, THEN you ought consider adding a battery to your Duke's electrical-system !
Doing so however, (in your particular case), would not be set-up as stock on any Duke-model,, and also, there are a few different ways, (to include a battery), available to choose from !
This added modification can be done later, if you then so choose.
Duke-Cheers,
-Bob

PLEASE NOTE... If this-post is not-yet signed-off with '-Bob', then I'm still in the process of completing it,, and if not also included with 'DCT' near bottom as well, then I may edit this post's wording at a later time. - Dct.Bob
