...and a new clutch pressure plate. The saved weigt ist not impressive and there is no improvment in clutch operation noticeable ...but it looks nice. The two Millimeter clutch plate was provided by Carlo Leoncini from Motofficina Leoncini.

I put some holes in my 350's pressure plate, but removed much more weight from the clutch housing, with my big drill press and an angle grinder.
It must accelerate faster.

Thanks, Wolf.
I thought it might need to be balanced after the hand held machining, but there is no increase in vibration.

Re: Winter is over
I've followed the inspiration given by Eldert to modify the the clutch pressure plate, the thrust bearing is a used part from a Suzuki, the plate itself is machined from aluminum, the 2 mm clutch plate is bolted to the aluminum part. During the installation I've found one stud bolt of the clutch hub loose, now all of them are TIG welded.
On the (almost) constant work on a new overhauled motor you can have a divided opinion. In this case I'm happy to have found the loose stud bolt, this might have went wrong in a situation it might have been very unwanted....
Cheers

Hi Wolf
nice conversion . i had some aluminium clutch centres made to save a little more weight
the part is hard anodized and has a nice tight fit on the splines
weight is 196 gram . i am selling them for 150 euro ( or 155 US dollar ) plus the shipping cost

Hi Eldert,
your clutch centers are looking really nice and 200 g less weight is impressive - also the very fair price!
The holes I've drilled in mine are saving 70 g with some time spent in the workshop (which is fun!).
Although tempting, I stay with my clutch hub for the moment...
