Once you have fully removed the top bolt and the outer lower nut, can you not swing the rear end of the master cylinder down, allowing the whole assembly to be withdrawn towards the swinging arm as Colin suggests?
You obviously need to have the connection to the brake pedal disconnected as well.
I think this arrangement is in place because the early Ventos used an off the peg Brembo master cylinder, with it's inherent pivot.
It is quite possible to replace the whole pivot with a nut and bolt to make re-assembly easier.
The later Ventos used an AJP rear master cylinder with a simpler bracket.

I got the bolt off. I used an angle grinder.
I spent a long time trying to pivot it in every direction. And yes, I'm sure I can replace the pivot with a nut and bolt.

Does anyone know what fork boots work on the Telesco front forks? Mine have perished. Forks are 34mm, outer tubes about 48mm.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Jesus Guzman at Recambio Usado in Spain usually stocks fork boots for Telesco forks, but he is currently out of stock.
The boots that he sells are really for the pre-1975 forks fitted to Ducati Roads and are slightly short for the Vento forks, although they do fit.
He also sells the O rings and Teflon lower bearing sleeves used on Vento forks.
Alternatively, the Marzocchi boots fitted to the late Italian Mark 3s and Morini 350s fit the Ventos Telesco forks fairly well, despite having Marzocchi moulded into the rubber.
I think you will find that your Telesco forks have 35mm stanchions.

Jon,
Thank you again, I'd be lost without you. I don't doubt that I'm 1mm out in my measurement.

Does anyone know what needle and seat goes in the PHF32 on the Vento? Mine is shot, and online there are 150, 170, 200, and 225 options.
Thanks

Neither the Vento parts book or riders handbook give the size of the float needle jet in the PHF32 fitted to the Vento.
I've got a PHF32 with a 250 float needle, as fitted to the 860s and Darmahs, so I would go for the 225 as a starting point.

Re: Project Vento has begun: help wanted.
Hi Jon,
Thank you. I had a moment of inspiration and emailed Dell Orto UK and asked their advice. Excellent people, they promptly replied "look on the hex section of the seat, it's probably engraved there" and lo and behold, yes it says "250".
Another mystery solved.
I'm now pondering whether to split the case and check out the internals. I gather some people feel an engine that's sat for a few years (like this one) should always be stripped down.

Aye cooperplace,
I assume that the company that you contacted was Eurocarb?
Link to Eurocarb website: https://www.dellorto.co.uk/
I have always received good advice and prompt service from Eurocarb. My dealings with them were for Moto Morini 31/2 and 125H carb parts.
I assume from your profile 'location' that your either a resident of the "Red continent" or the "Land of the long white cloud"? So not sure of your local parts suppliers?
Good health, Bill

I have to say I am of that persuation. But, it's your engine.I gather some people feel an engine that's sat for a few years (like this one) should always be stripped down.

Re: Project Vento has begun: help wanted.
Rubber parts needed: the headlight brackets, which go over the fork tubes, sit on rubber ears that grip the fork tubes. Does anyone know where I can get some?
Thanks.
Thanks.
