Seems the Hessians, where I live in southern district (Hesse is a state in the heart of Germany https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hesse), are as curious as the Texans.
Hence, I continued researching about Ducati singles alternators, and finally found this:
Here we see the sketch of a stator with the usual 3 output wires, but 2 internal ground connections of windings. It must contain a special winding scheme, as well as at least one coil in dual-layer fashion. OK, it should belong to n/c models, but your early SCR might have this type anyhow, so measuring 3 certain resistances against the stator is a matter of course in that case. I feel unable to answer your question about resistance values measured as long as we have not perfectly identified the type of stator in your bike. Let's unravel that mytery!
Don't be afraid of beeing misjudged - seems your brain sits in the right placeAnd btw, some important info about Hessians, maybe unknown in the US: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hessian_cuisine

Most don’t know this but curiosity didn’t kill the cat but digging deeper into that idiom reveals that it actually had another meaning...worry not curiosity was the killer of the feminine feline’s mystique but satisfaction brought it back! Nothing more satisfying finding the answer to a riddle. Like that idiom so goes the wiring diagrams of the ducati scramber. We need to keep digging.
Now we are big fans of a German bloke named Walter Kaaden, brautwurst, and sauerkraut! While I am working on the Ducati my son Zeke is getting ready to dive into expanding his knowledge of harmonic resonance and wants to build his Bultaco 360 into either a drag bike or a hypermotard. We do know how to start them backwards! https://youtu.be/2r3Pfx0WCkI
Now back to the topic at hand. We have wired the Ducati similar to the original diagram as follows:
Yellow wire runs the ignition
Red wire runs the the LED headlight via a bridge rectifier
White wire goes through a 6volt reg/rectifier to charge the battery. Plan on having the battery wires to the horn.
I know you think seeing is believing and we will get there but we have discovered many things that we shouldn’t have by being curious as a cat!
Will post a diagram later!
Cheers
