Thanks but that link is badly filmed & doesn't really show how effective the soda blasting worked out. Looks like I'll have to do a full strip & get the cases blasted professionally. Have just had the twin filler tank repaired & primed (at some cost, but worth it). Not sure what paint job to get is all that's holding up that part of the resto. I have 2 tanks, one is chromed with one filler & the other is the twin. Anyone know the value of these tanks in $Au?

Graeme, I'm located at Mid North Coast NSW. Am very lucky to have Pete Smith who owned Eppicycle on Epping Rd. Epping (lol), living close by so I can get high quality work done on my Dukes by a bloke who knows his stuff. Where are you & what have you got?

Both tanks are expensive more so the twin filler.
My son had his Pantah engine and wheels etc soda blasted which did a good job at removing paint and grime.
But not as good a finish as the wet blasting process on cast cases etc.
Cast that has been wet blasted doesn't hold dirt and is easier to clean years later.
If you do use professional soda blasting don't get it done at your place!
It's very noisey and you end up with a huge mess to clean up. I know!!!
Pete Smith knows his stuff.
I'm in Tasmania ex Brisbane

Not a single, but good enough excuse to show an example of Pete Smith's work.

That twin is now being rebuilt in northern NSW.

Not sure, it was taken by professional photographer Phil Aynsley.
The anti-dive front fork accessory was seen around the 1980s, I think?
