electric roller starter to start 250?

Thanks for the link Joe, informative for sure. I don't need a set of starting rollers at the moment, as fortunately I am still able to fire up my 500 Goldstar, at seventy one years old"today", but who knows what the future holds. So I am pressing on with rebuilding my 1959 200 SS Ducati, which hopefully will be a little easier to start, and another bonus I will be wearing out the other leg.

As Bruce is contemplating manufacturing a set of V profile starting rollers, this is just a thought, the V profile rollers may not perform as might be expected.
I have not built a set of starting rollers as suggested, or indeed any, so I cannot speak from experience.
But in my experience as an engineer, anything running on the surface of a rotating tapered drum, is influenced up the taper not down.
A convex profile roller, (crown roller) would influence the wheel to the centre of the roller, where as a concave profile would influence the wheel out from the centre in either direction.
Before committing to full scale manufacture, a model mock up might be worth while.

Starter Rollers are quite handy when the available surface is anything other than dry pavement or in a crowded area. These two scenarios occur at the races. Also, if you wanna crank or spin-up the bike in your little garage, etc. How on earth Eldert got my (overly?) high compression 350 racer to push start on his 2nd floor steel grate surface, I'll never know, but I wouldn't be able to do it. Lastly, legs, back, etc. get old. 'nuff said...
