" Sent messages sit in the outbox but never go out. "

____ I just found that my PM sent to Wally had also been placed & left within my out-box, too !
I don't understand how that came to happen,, cuz all other PMs which I've ever sent before, seemed to have been sent straight-out at the time!?
I believe I've now finally gotten that PM sent-out ! _ I had to open the message to Wally and then click the button for sending it (again), in order to get that message gone from my out-box.
__ So perhaps you also need to do that, with each & every PM which you've found left within your out-box.

Hopeful-Cheers,
-Bob

I just did an internet search and the issue of PMs getting stuck in the outbox seems to be a common occurrence on all forums using phpBB forum software.

The general consensus on other forums is that your outgoing messages remain in your 'outbox' until the recipient opens the message.

I am not sure if this is altogether correct information. Nor did I see anyone go on to address where and how the mail appears and where it doesn't appear if you send your PM to more than one person.

" I just did an internet search and the issue of PMs getting stuck in the outbox seems to be a common occurrence on all forums using phpBB forum software. "

____ Jim, as you ought to recall, I once had trouble staying logged-in after signing-in...
Back before-hand, I had always been able to sign-in okay and stay logged-in without any problems, until one day when I found that I could still sign-in just as usual, BUT, as soon as I'd go to any other page, (although I'd still actually be logged-in as expected), I'd then be treated as if I were NOT logged-in !
And that remained a problem for me for a few days (even though you yourself had found that it was not a problem for YOU when you would sign-in as DewCatTea-Bob, from at your end), until I tried another browser !
__ Once I realized that 'Internet Explorer' would still work for me without that same problem, (just as 'Firefox' always HAD done, in the previous-past!), and that Firefox continued-on with the problem that it had started giving me,
I then uninstalled Firefox & reinstalled it... And I then found that Firefox was then back to working correctly, as it had before, (keeping me as if still logged-in, on every page,, just as it always had rightfully done before, in the past) !
__ But, since I had reinstalled an old version, Firefox soon there-after wanted to update itself,, and after that, the staying logged-in problem came right-back !!
So I uninstalled the updated-version and reinstalled the old-version again, and that problem went away, again! _ And it stayed away, so long as I refused to let Firefox update itself ! - (Which did happen again however, and so I had to go through the uninstall & reinstall process again, at least 2 more times.)
Finally, the last time Firefox undated itself, I then assumed that I was going to have to go through that process AGAIN, but found (while here at this w.site), that it was not going to be necessary, after that last time,, so I guess that Firefox had finally found & cured whatever was causing that issue, (evidently due to a previous [faulty] update which had started the problem) that I had for so long.

____ Anyhow, I now believe that those who can not get PMs out of their outbox, must be Firefox-users, because, I recently tried to send a PM and it would not proceed to indicate that the (seemingly stuck) PM has been sent-out,, instead, continuing to show the same page (as if simply refreshed, & still showing the submitted PM, as if still not sent) !
__ Then realizing that since Firefox is known to have other such web-surfing issues, I next decided to try Internet Explorer, to go through the entire PM sending process,
and then found that I could then work past that problem page & get my PM sent-out -(along-with a confirmation-page indicating so), in the very same manor in which it's supposed to get done !!
__ I've waited till now to post this discovery because I was still not sure if my sent PM was actually receivable, until I recently found that my sent PM had received word returned back, from the intended-recipient of my PM.
So I now suggest that all Firefox-users who still have trouble sending-out any PMs from their PM-outbox, instead try opening this web.site using Internet Explorer (NOT Firefox), and then go to your outbox and try sending-out your (previously stuck) PMs !
Please let us know if this change makes any difference for ya ! _ Cuz I'm now believing that such problems are actually due to the involved browser, (rather than solely a w.site issue).

Hopeful-Cheers,
-Bob

On-line Manuals working (more or less)

Postby JimF » Tue Jul 20, 2010 4:52 am

I have the on-line parts catalogs and manuals on the technical page that utilize the CoolIris wall working now.

Refinements to follow... but at least they are working,

The Cool Iris thing is meant to help us find stuff on-line and without paging through a 140-page document one page at a time.

I've been to other sites where you just have to keep downloading every page in succession until you arrive at the one you were looking for.

Some of the manuals/catalogs have been stored in PDF format. Which one are you looking for first? If I have it in PDF format I can email it to you. Later I can add links to PDF copies that you could print out.

I more than appreciate the cool iris setup as it makes it very easy for me to do exactly what you described.

I have been searching for a ducati singles restoration book in hopes of finding one that I can afford and was going to print out the cool iris pages. No worries as now see the jpg link and can manually pull them together for the 250 booklet. If there is something i missed inside cool iris to save everything let me know as it is a very new ap for me. Thanks for the work on putting it together.

Would you have the Ducati OHC Workshop Manual available a a PDF? I have a very old original edition, but I hate taking it in the shop for fear of it getting further degraded.
I've been looking for how to print this one out from cool iris for the shop, but PDF would be sweet.

thanks
