Gotta say, as a owner and rider of both a 68 twin filler M3D and a 74 450 MK3 with factory clip-ons and marzocchi forks with drum brakes, I rate the earlier bike's handling better in most situations. And in tight twisties, especially so.

Can't remember earlier but my 74 is the most fun to ride hard as long as I allow for frame and fork flex.
I has a damper, Pantah stanchions with 40mm cut off and 20 mm longer Koni shocks. It will flick its head if pushed too hard over rough corners but is quite stabill considering its weight and age.
