Put back the SSI + SS2 with a brand new 60 slide and it run way worst than with the 80...
Just got a 260 nebulizer from my friend, so will try this sometime this week..

If i understand well, the smaller the angle is on the slide, the richer it is? :geek:

Will try 265 + 100 slide, and 260 with 80 slide..
as it still doesn't want to get a proper idle (worked well with the VHB, but SSI is so much prettier!)

A 60 slide has smaller cutaway ,so less air gets in,hence richer. Did you try raising the fuel level to the point of leaking then back off a bit ?.Did you adjust the slide position from the carb top.

Hi Bob,

I just tried the 260 nebulizer with the 80 Slide, better (much better, as it almost run properly now) seem to still run a little rich tho, will try to put the 100 slide when i will have time!
I raised the level, and then backed by 2mm, was worst with the 60, so i dropped it back to the same level as just under the mixture screw.

The bike is more and more fun to ride, so i can't wait to get it to idle, so i don't have to push start it at every intersection!

:P

Tried the 100 slide tonight, and it did not work well at all, tend to die when going out of idle...

best combo for now is slide 80, main 112 jet, m14 needle on 3rd notch from the top, idle 50 (seems little rich as the surround of the plug is quite "sooty" ) , 260 nebulizer.

is there any 70 slide? i know i could file the 60, but was just wondering..

Try dropping the needle in the slide mine is on the top notch.Sooty plug mouth could be oil, is it shiney or matt black?.

matt black, but only on the crown, center is grayish, i'll try dropping the needle when i'm back home!
Bike is quite fun to ride now, even though not perfectly running!

Don't file the slide, the richness is most likely the needle position, thats what you are on most of the time. The other factor is the silencer, new silencers are usually too restrictive ,meggas too much the other way. I am using a Norton cigar silencer from a 1960 Dominator , i think the Navigator silencer is the same ,I'm also using a Norton Dommy silencer bracket. Looks very similar to the silentium but bigger bore.A recent Magazine road tested a 350 Duc with this silencer.I think he copied me!.

i dropped the needle on lower position, works, but backfire\pop a little at low rpm...might put it back at 2
my silencer is a megaphone modified with muffler pack and supertrapp inside it (3" with 12 disk), wanted to keep the look of the megaphone...might be restrictive though.. but it seems to rev quite freely!

i have a dunstall replica that i wanted to canibalize inside the megaphone too!
