Can anyone help please.I just found out today that the fuel tank from my 450 scrambler has more holes than a tea bag.Does anyone have or know of a good fuel tank for sale? It's all I need to finish my bike
Thanks in advance

I would check with rick first, he posted this just over a year ago, but he may still have it...

This one also just popped up on ebay but the left hand side looks a little rough, may not be any better than what you have already...

Re: 450 widecase fuel/gas tank
what sort of condition is your tank in, is it badly rusted, or does it just leak? is there any reason why you can't fix your tank. that tank on ebay will likely cost you $200 plus shipping to the UK.
and you can tell it needs work, you could have your tank brazed, soldered, or welded. also a good lineing might be able to fix your tank. i just lined my tank with Caswell, it looks great inside now. they say it will fill pinholes and leaking seams as well. my tank didn't have any leaks but it was rusted badly so i de-rusted it with Metal Rescue and lined it with Caswell Epoxy. i am very happy with the result.
DomiRacer has a scrambler tank, i think Tony wanted $250 for it he might take less I don't know. it is a solid tank does not have chrome showing, it is the earlier style with the open slotted front mounts.

Hi
I took the tank to our chrome platers. They removed the old pitted chrome/paint ect but only where the chrome was it has hundreds and I do mean hundreds of tiny pin holes. They said they can repair it but at a cost of over £500 so hence me trying to find another tank. Thanks for the nod with Domiracer.I have sent them an email asking what they have.
All the best
Steve

Re: 450 widecase fuel/gas tank
thats a shame about your tank. recently a NOS WC scrambler tank sold on ebay for $850, which is not bad considering you would pay $400 to $600 to a chromer.
I met with a local colector today who is selling some of his parts, i bought a NC scrambler tank off of him. he has a NOS WC scrambler tank that he showed to me.
we talked about the one that had just sold on ebay and he will likely be listing it on ebay soon, keep an eye out for it.
