Re: Monza clutch cable adjustment

I have tried your idea and put the bike in first gear while the engine is at idle and with the clutch lever pulled in. On the first try the monza lurched and stalled.
On the second try.... HALLELUJAH ! the clutch is now free. I rode the duke up and down the street several times. I went up and down throught the gears maybe eight or ten times. All seemed good untill the throttle control rotated on the
handlebar causing the engine to rev out of control.(I had neglected to tighten it enough). I pulled out the key as soon as I realized what had happened. I also flailed rather wildly at the gear lever in my panic to get into neutral.

I have to use a great deal of concentration to try and break the 30 year imprint of riding a left shift motorcycle. Even riding in a sort of mental slow motion I find myself kicking at the wrong pedal !

After coasting home and fixing the throttle problem the engine fired right up and all appears OK.
However I now have a problem of the gear selector seeming to be finding the wrong gear. The selector feels very vague and when I think I`m in first the engine stalls when the clutch is let out. After several tries I slipped the clutch enough that the bike lurched forward and chugged madly. Obviously in a much higher gear than first.
So back in the garage to cool down , then I`ll try to figure whats going wrong.
