Not a cam devoted to international communism, but rather the grind supplied on the Diana Mark 3 bikes, 1962-64: #0602.29.010.
Recent discussion here leads me to think my engine is from one of these (it's Tipo '250 D3', Anno '1963', engine 84414), where I had thought it was from an SCR so would have the 'white' cam.
Does anyone know how the red cam compares to better-known varieties like white, white/green and gray? How will it affect power, smoothness, low-speed running etc.?
Cheers,
Dave

Re: Red Cam
Looking at the cam data I have, it should be a fairly smooth road performer, leaning more toward low/mid range performance. Lift numbers put it a bit higher than the white and lower than gray, green/white being the highest of the group.

Re: Red Cam
There's some info on Ducati cams, including the red one, at the Ducatimeccanica site:

Re: Red Cam
Thanks, Bill & Jordan.
That document contains an impressive collection of details on the Ducati cam variants; kudos to Jim Pianetta for compiling it. I need to study up interpreting the effects of the various specifications (overlap, lift etc.) on engine response.
Cheers,
Dave
