Anybody know if Ducati dealers can still get OEM engine parts (piston rings, valves and guides, etc.) for vintage bikes, such as a '66 MACH 1?
If so, does anyone know a dealer that is well versed in the vintage parts and has good customer service?
Thanks!

Re: Vintage Parts from Ducati Dealers?
Ive been down this road with countless dealers... most recently Ducati of Omaha.
If you try ordering any old ducati single spare parts, you will find, as I have, some dealers have not updated their parts list, and if you try ordering parts online, it will show a price, and let you order them. But, you will surely get an email saying, hey these parts are not available, and havent been for a LONG time... It is a waste of time to try, ive even paid for the parts, hoping they would show up, only to get a refund into my paypal account, and an apology email from the dealership...

Thanks Joe. No sense wasting my time calling around to the dealers then. Anybody have suggestions for sourcing engine parts (besides web searches)? I just stared a rebuild and would like to replace some parts that are out of spec.

What parts do you need ? I have a lot of spares, as do many other people on here... You could compile a list of what you need and post it on the parts for sale section, or just post it on here... Other than that, I buy from and recommend Domi-Racer (talk to tony) Lacey engineering (Nigel, or Edina), Loudbike, Classic Ducati (Barry, or Angela), Classic Italian Bikes (Giovanni) Guzzino, Eurojamb (Joe) Syd's (Malcom)... Thats about it, other than multiple people ive bought things from on ebay, those are just about all of the vendors ive dealt with.

I'm still only halfway through the tear-down, so I'll post a list once I have scrutinized and measured everything. Some of the links you posted are familiar, but some are new to me. I'll check them out when I get time. Thanks for the help!

I have used EuroJam, Guzzino, Classic Ducati. I have had very positive experiences with each. Not to take anything away from them, but my fav is Lacey Engineering.

Got a chance to look through the websites you listed today... WOW. Sourcing the parts may not be a hard as I thought. Thanks!

Modern dealers are a good source for valve shim caps and valve guide seals. You just have to ask for parts for a 2 valve belt drive engine with 8mm valves.

I'm pretty sure Ian Gowanlock of ItalSpares from Aus has one of the largest collections of spare parts in the world. You could give him a try also.
