Disc brake front wheel

Postby bendik » Tue Sep 08, 2026 9:52 am

I am wondering about changing to a disc front wheel as it is allowed in our class.
Does anyone have a suitable 18" front wheel that they would part with? Preferably a valanced alu rim as that is what I have at the rear.

Good luck finding a disc front end from a single
Perhaps look for a wheel and forks from a parallel twin GTL or similar ?
Or Japanese bike with the same size forks ?
I used a front end from a Honda NSR125, but a lot of lathe work to get the disc to fit on a Ducati wheel hub.

Have a look at the MZ etz 250 front end......single disc and brembo type caliper.....looks like a possible alternative. Cheers George.

Hi Graeme
Sorry if I was unclear; I just wanted a spoked wheel that could be adapted. I am using NSR forks so I need to make an adapter for the caliper anyway. Happy to make wheel spacers/play w bearings etc to make it fit.
Was just if somebody had a wheel in the shed that they would be willing to part with
