Hi,
Any suggestions as to how to deal with the bend in this Mach 1 kickstart lever?
Thanks

Re: Advice please
I have reshaped kickstart levers with an oxy-acetylene torch.
Heat the area to glowing, bend, rechrome.
I used the cutting torch head because it provides a wide flame, but do not touch the cutting control.
A torch that uses propane/butane or MAPP fuel doesn't get it hot enough, but maybe one that uses oxygen as well could?

Re: Advice please
Same as Jordan suggests ......but......if you have access or can get access to a hydraulic press? you will still need to heat the lever but not hot enough to destroy or discolour the plating and then press it back into shape while its hot.

Re: Advice please
Hi,
Thanks for your respective replies.
Having neither a sufficient heat source nor a press, I have asked a local machine/welding shop to assist. Before they commit, I was asked what material is the kickstart made from?
Thanks again
Bob

Re: Advice please
With your help, I've had the lever straightened, a vast improvement. Now off to the platers.
