Does anyone have a pic of an original 250 Monza Frame ID Tag Foil (1964)?
I'm wondering what was originally stamped besides the year and engine/frame numbers/cylinder.
On my Scramblers it's "250 SCR" and "350 S" in the first slot. But what about Monzas?
I can't seem to find an example.
The "Peso/Weight" and "Crico Utile/Payload" slots are the other ones..
I'm about to re-stamp a tag and just wanted to be accurate.
thanks

I'll try and post you a picture tonight - I think most items were just left blank.

Re: Ducati Monza Foil Tag Info??
Thanks alot.
Having done some more research, I think I can estimate the weight and payload, the one that eludes me is whether they put any kind of designation after the 250 for a Monza. Like I said the Scramblers I have are "250 SCR" and "350 S". I figured it might be something like 250 MNZ or something, but maybe it was only 250.

____ Don't trust JUST my own recall on this but, I believe it's just a 'M' ... as I think I see: ' 250 M ' , in my mind's-eye as I picture it.
Hopeful-Cheers,

Re: Ducati Monza Foil Tag Info??
I have a terrible memory.
Not a Monze tag (Mark 3 tag) but it will give you an idea of the font and size of the stampings.
Bottom three entries are:
116
150
250
Also, every tag I have ever seen (only a couple) only have "196" stamped in the year position. I suspect that this allowed the dealer to sell every bike he had as being a current model year. Nowadays a dealer takes a bit of a hit when he's selling a brand new 2009 that's been sitting in his inventory for a year or so. But back then a dealer could have leftover bikes from the previous year and then sell them in the present year as current models. That's how I recall the titling worked until the states enacted consumer protection laws against selling old model vehicles as new models.

____ Even so, I still sorta feel like I recall seeing Ms after the '250' on MONZAs .
__ The '116' & '150' are kilograms, I'm sure ! _ As I believe the dry-weight for the Monza is about 255-lbs.

Re: Ducati Monza Foil Tag Info??
I have never seen one with the date completed, they all say 196 with the rest blank.
