Monza 160 engine oil

Postby Kabi » Fri Apr 21, 2023 9:15 am

Hi guys,

tried to use search button, but it tells me it is not able to find monza 160 engine oil here :D
I would like to ask you; do you have any recommendation for engine oil?
In manual for Monza 160 is written Agip F.1 racing or multigrade SAE 40.
But what to choose these days?
I have found some Ravenol brand for historic vehicles, but..
Mineral, synth, semi-synth. I dont know nothing about engine oil.

Thank you

Oh no, not an engine oil question! Don the tin helmets.

Jesting aside, if you look at the Lacey Ducati website, Nigel recommends Silkolene Comp 4 20/50, and that is good enough for me.

Cheers,

Colin

Yes, that's what I use. The same stuff also goes into my big-block Guzzis.

Actually, Kabi, it's the other way round :

"AGIP F.1 Multigrade or AGIP F.1 Racing SAE 40".

But never mind ... :).

Just use a quality 20-50 (or 20-40: it isn't important), like the Silkolene Comp 4 - if you can get it in the Czech Republic. It's made by Fuchs, by the way. So it may have a different local market name. Try https://www.fuchs.com/cz/cs/

Otherwise, chose any decent brand.

Semi-synthetic or mineral, either is ok. You don't need to go to the expense of a fully synthetic.

Do remember to change it. Every 2,000 km was the original recommendation, but these days you can go to 3,000km.
