Question on dry clutch
Does anyone know how many friction discs are used in one of the Italian dry clutch systems? I have six of the bronze frictions and when using the standard thickness steels I am probably one, possibly two, friction discs too low. When using the 2mm steels from Lacey I can get the stack just about right but it requires a steel disc up against the pressure plate. Any thoughts or suggestions?

This one. I did see Officine8 has a dry clutch pack and it comes with 7 friction discs so I suspect I am short one.

Re: Question on dry clutch
one would think the stack should have the same height as original .
original 7 lined plates 3 mm = 21 mm 6 plain plates 1 mm = 6 mm . total height 27 mm
or when using the thicker 2 mm plates : 5 X 2 mm plates = 10 mm . 6 x lined 3 mm plates is 18 mm . total 28 mm .

Re: Question on dry clutch
Right now I have 6 bronze frictions and 5 of the 2mm steels. The stack is fine but the stack ends with a steel plate against the pressure plate and not a bronze friction. Perhaps that is OK since the original pressure plate has a steel attached to it so perhaps an aluminum pressure plate can have a steel against it. I've just always figured a stack should start and finish with a friction disc.
