Tyres ?

Postby graeme » Mon Oct 12, 2020 7:36 am

The never ending question? (not as bad as oil questions)

Can I have your recommendations for front and rear tyres ?
I’ve always used Dunlop TT100 GP compound and have been happy with them.
What else is good ?
Don’t care about mileage or longevity, just performance.

I like Avon Roadriders. Have them on my 250 and a Velo 500.
They are my tyre of choice for road work now.
Cheers

I use Avon Roadriders too.
But I haven't used anything else to compare them with and I don't ride that hard.

I am running bridgestone battleaxe bt45s front and rear on the 250 desmo and the 350 mk3, tried them as an experiment when I rebuilt the 250D and was so impressed that I fitted a set to the 350 as well, I previously always ran dunlop tt100s but I think the bt45s are much better all round.
Cheers,
George

I am in the process of getting my 450's wheels rebuilt & an having them done as a WM2 front & WM3 rear to take Continental Classic Attack radials. You don't say what bike or rim sizes you have & the above is the smallest rims for the Contis. Radials are light years away from cross-ply tyres & I want maximum performance too so that's where I am headed! Best regards, Mike.
