Hi all,
I have just re purchased my old 450 Scrambler. I owned it about 33 years ago and sold it to a guy that had an unfortunate end on it. It has sat in bits ever since. This is the short version of a long story as you may well imagine.
So I am going to try and restore it to near new condition, as best I can. I have owned over 30 bikes, but have never restored one !
As you can see by the pics, I have a bit of a job on my hands. The engine turns over, but apart from that I dont know its condition. It will be going to a mechanic for a good look. Probably bead blast, rebuild and polish outer cases.
Frame is missing. But I have sourced one. Not got it yet, but I hope soon it will be here.
Lots of stuff needed, like frame, carb, bars, seat, speedo, cables and lots of little things. It's going to be a heartfelt project as the last owner was a real character.
Found this forum and thought it might be a good way to document the build. It also looks like I will learn a lot from here as well.
Many thanks in advance.
The bike as I had it way back, and as it is now.

We are lucky here. There are 2 very accomplished Ducati mechanics that I can choose between. One is Brook Henry from Vee Two. I have known him for years.
I am 60 this year, but started late in life as far as fatherhood goes. My 6 year old son is going to enjoy the ride as well. I hope.
