Craig,
Don't be so hard on yourself - like you said, this is for fun. We all need to keep that in perspective.

I only hope everyone will to continue to post and agree and disagree - it's all ok.

This site, in it's very short period of existence, has become a wealth of information on a very obscure part of motorcycle history and I for one and very appreciative of all the posts.

Sooo, keep it coming and I will start a new thread on Ducati Bronco's !

Even has the original tyre (tire)pump! capt Paul

Sorry to see you leaving the fold Craig, much enjoyed your posts and admired your workmanship.I also find Bob's style difficult but also have a lot of respect for his depth of knowledge and intentions.I'm told my style can be unsetling but in my case its often deliberate as i want to provoke a response where a vacuum exists. There's nothing worse than nothing.

" I also find Bob's style difficult "

____ First off, no offense taken by this old-guy ! _ But I kinda wonder what's not easy enough for anyone?
I don't try to have a "style",, when writing a post, I do like most everyone else and use the first words that come to me, (like child-writing), and while that type of writing is easier for most to understand, it unfortunately also leaves more holes for misinterpretation ! _ So that's why I've placed a statement at the bottom of all my posts stating that I'm not done editing my post unless it's signed-off with "DCT-Bob" . _ So that I can have time to come-back and use more adult-terminology to help sew-up any pathways to otherwise possible misunderstanding.
__ Whenever I read someone's post that inspires me to write a response-post, I find that if I put-off responding until I have time to write-out a fully-edited version, it just never gets done. _ But once started, I have to get back to finishing it,, so that way, it gets completely-done, (more sooner than later).
I'm sorry that the unfinished-version gets found by some of us in the meantime, (as we now know can lead to troubles!), but those who know my real intent should be okay with whatever I leave unfinished.

____ I'm glad to see that Craig has come back down to hopefully better understand where I was actually coming-from, and that while we both may have regrets, that there was really nothing to have gotten upset about (and therefore need not get mushy about anything), and (with shoulders shrugged), just continue-on.
__ I'm quite fine with leaving our head-butting posts, posted,, as that set of exchange will help others to realize that we shouldn't ever be rash (in any respect) !
__ BTW, I've finally finished the post that Craig found before it was finished.
When-ever I start such a post, many thoughts which had come to mind that I wanted to include, get forgotten while my finger types-in all the letters,, so additional (previously intended) wording is usually later found added, once 'DCT-Bob' is found near the bottom of the posting.

Hopeful-Cheers,
-Bob
PLEASE NOTE... If this-post is not-yet signed-off with '-Bob', then I'm still in the process of completing it,, and if not also included with 'DCT' near bottom as well, then I may edit this post's wording at a later time. - Dct.Bob

Hi Bob, No offence intended,I don't have any problem with your style now, I've got used to it! In the beginning it felt as if i was being talked down to, but of course you have no idea of my knowledge or competance (or age) and there are also cultural differences(you speak that daffy yank way!! ), however we are all here because we are slightly mad anyway so tolerance is the way.

____ OH... right, the ol being-talked-down-to impression... Well fellow Bob, you're not the first one to jump-over to that thought. _ As I guess it's natural these days to assume that EVERYone has the same lack of thoughtfulness to choose wording that is more apt to be understood by all. _ I mean, I could have done the same as most all advanced Dukers and used only seasoned DUCATI tech-lingo, etc., and thus spared you of any of the common-wording that would've been appreciated only by any newbe-types.
But I believe that doing that kind of talk should only be done for PMs, and prefer to write my posts so that even the newest-newbe can be clued-in & get an easier grasp of what's being conveyed.
__ So as I keep trying to make clear, most of my posts are written/worded primarily for the general-reader (in such a way that ANYone should be able to understand), and not just people like the person who's words I've quoted. _ Cuz just like you so smartly pointed-out Bob, I of course really had no idea of your (or anyone else's) knowledge or competence (or experience, etc.) !
Thus since I don't know who's all going to be reading my post, I usually feel the need to write it with wording that'll cover everyone. _ As I think that for a seasoned-Duker to have to read a little extra wording (that he doesn't really need, to get the proper-grasp), is a price worth paying, so that not a single newbie gets left-behind.

Good-Cheers,
-Bob
