Lower Bevel Gears
Are the lower bevel gears and bushing tunnel the same on the wide case and narrow case (interchangeable)?

Re: Lower Bevel Gears
the lower bevel bushing is the same on narrow and wide case engines .
the bottom bevel gear ( the one with the shaft ) is the same on early widecase engines .
later widecase engines got a bigger rh main bearing . they went from a 6206 to a 6306 bearing .
this bearing is also wider 19 mm instead of 16
so they had to ground a flat on the outside of the bottom bevelgear otherwise the gear would foul the inner race of the bearing

Hi Eldert, No doubt you have read the post on bottom bevels, have you had problems with shimming the housing ? how did you go about it?.
