kickstarter bushing direction

As I was disassembling the kickstarter mechanism on my 160 engine, a bushing dropped out of the starter gear. This bushing is asymmetrical - one end has notches,the OD is reduced in two locations, and cross-drilled holes are located off center. Unfortunately, I did not see the way the bushing was installed before it came out. Can anyone tell me which way this bushing should be reinstalled? Should the notches go toward the engine or away?

Hi,

I'm not a specialist for the N/C models. But, for me it seems obvious to have the notches orientated inwards. Then, it should be visible that the starter gear axially runs perfectly aligned to the area of slightly larger diameter of the bushing.
