The cheap one!. Called Energy Booster, Its a basic product that I would call a Points assist. I would suggest that you remove the capacitor from the points base plate ,I have a normal ignition coil and a 12v conversion . I would also suggest using the advance and retard unit as found on the more basic models (Monza) which has a 14 degree action which equates to 28 degrees on the bike. Set this up with anywhere from 5 to 8 degrees static advance and even with a high comp piston you will not get a kick back to worry you. If you are a an old fossil and worry you can carry the capacitor and a bit of spare wire to convert back to standard points power by the roadside. You can also stop and open or close the points a couple of thou just to see if the timing is good.I think they do a 6v too. I attached the unit with a cable tie to the frame. You probably don't even need to change or check the timing, I have not used a degree disc for years, just set the timing to give a very mild kickback.

Re: 250 Monza: is electronic ignition available?
Bob, this sounds very much like the Dynatek DBR-1 Ignition booster I fitted to my 250 Monza. It gave me the mother of all kickbacks. Neither my 450 nor the 900 ever gave such a vicious kickback. Months later, my foot and ankle still hurt. At the time I thought something might have been broken, and I still think that might have been the case. My ankle has never quite been the same since. I removed the booster, and without changing the timing, no more such kickbacks have occurred.
Also, I was wearing running shoes, and I will never do that again. It will always be very heavy, strong boots when kicking the 250.

be nice, I'm not very bright.

Bad kickback seems to be more common with the AR units that give a narrow range and have to be set up with more static advance.
