Kev,
Thanks for the all the info and the link. I think you are right on..On a few things. Your red does look super nice! Did you have it painted that color? If so would you mind sharing the paint code? I think im gonna go for what i like since a red frame seems to be semi correct if not fully correct as thst link seems to claim.
Does anyone know of any other 68 350 desmos with a red frame from the factory?
Thanks
John

Re: 68' Twin filler Tank restoration help
Hi John,
My 250 arrived in that colour, so I didn't have to make a decision (thankfully) and don't know what the paint code is. Cosmetically, it was very sweet - I just had to fix the engine, carb, brakes,...(ok - everything but the paint!)
Just to clarify, my 250 is the one behind the 350 in front. If that is the colour your are interested in, Rob, who owns the 350 did have his painted, so he may well know what that code is. I can ping him an email and ask him if that is the one you are interested in.

Thanks for all the info Kev.
Does anyone have an idea how many twin filler bikes were produced?

This old magazine I have at home shows a red frame. I'll see if I can find a scan of the whole article.

I have a 1970 450 Desmo with purple twin filler tank and purple on a short section of the forks that is usually black.tThe :side covers are chrome. It has a spark plug on both sides and 2 coils. The tank does not appear to have been chrome. What's up with the 2 spark plugs? Is this 2 plug bike from the factory?

Re: 68' Twin filler Tank restoration help
Unfortunately, its buried right now behind and under other fortunes and treasures I have accumulated over many years
The bike is very rough/rusty but all there except the seat which melted off the bike into puddles of goo in a storage unit during summer. It must have got quite hot in there. the same thing happened to the 350 seat. The top bevel gear set has some chipped teath. The engine is jammed or locked up. Bummer!
