No worries mate. I have a few orthodox classics as well (the kind that everyone thinks are cool) but for some reason I've always been attracted to the 'oddballs'. Some sort of personality defect, no doubt. Too, I'm always vaguely suspicious of those who make a point of owning the 'right' bikes. It makes me doubt their sincerity. Do they really care about the machine, or is it merely a prop for their weak egos?

At-least that's why I-myself had chosen DUCATI, (as I didn't want a common Jap.bike or Brit.bike, and couldn't obtain anything even-more unique).

At-least that's why I-myself had chosen DUCATI, (as I didn't want a common Jap.bike or Brit.bike, and couldn't obtain anything even-more unique).

There is something about old Ducati's
My first experience was sitting on the seat hump of a mates 450 Silver Shotgun when he doubled me to pick up a new Yamaha TT that I had bought (first and only bike I bought new) from Surfers Paradise to Broad Beach.
No pillion pegs and really no seat, but the sound and feel of this thing as he weaved his way through traffic was something that flicked a switch. The ritual of starting it and watching it vibrate its way down the driveway. From then on I lusted after a 450 like his.
The Yamaha didn't last long and never made me smile like any of the Italian singles.
I've had Darhma's and SS's but the singles seem to be always there.
I even bought a Commando which is a great tourer (anyone that complains about Ducati's machining and castings should rebuild a Norton)
My favourite is the '74 yellow 450, and I never did get a Shotgun.
RT and Scrambler are good too.
There is something about a Ducati single.
