Carlo Saltarelli, who was a former racer and Ducati test driver and Ducati dealership owner commisioned RM Auctions to sell his collection of over 100 motorcycles at the RM Auctions car auction in Monaco last week. For the last 30 years I have been looking for an excure to take my wife to that part of the world, and this seemed like about as good of an excuse as I could think of ! It was a great trip, beautiful scenary and really cool villages along the coast and a chance to meet some very nice people, and witness an amazing collection of vintage Ducati motorcycles. There has been a lot of criticism about the description of the bikes, and I know some folks were expecting to find some rare museum finds. I was not dissapointed and it was a pleasure to meet Mr. Salterelli and his family and the RM Auction folks were great. Here are a couple of pics. I took many pics of most of the bikes, as it was a chance to document a large number of bikes, so if you are looking for a pic or 2, send me a PM.
