Re: Cosmetic repair of a vintage SAFA battery?

Hi Graeme, Yes, there was someone selling battery boxes that looked something like the 3L3, but I am not sure if they were simply the commonly available molded battery cases with a SAFA sticker attached, or it they were sized and formed including the vertical textures to copy the real thing. With an...

Cosmetic repair of a vintage SAFA battery?

3L3.jpg (Narrow case 250 parts book image) I found this SAFA 3L3 battery which is non-functional. The case cracked probably from discharged electrolyte that froze during a winter while the motorcycle that housed it sat outside. The case crack is what I would like to fix just for show. I don't have ...

Re: mototrans telesco forks

Hi Ian,

I may have an entire Mototrans fork assembly if that would be of any use to you. I am unsure what shape they are in.

I am in the US. I mention it because forks are large and heavy and will be expensive to ship.

Re: OK, People. How do I make it happen?

The problem is always the power requirement. Incandescent and Halogen bulbs require much more power than the Ducati electrical systems were designed to deliver for the entire electrical system (headlight, taillight, brake light, horn and ignition combined). The upgraded alternator kits can certainly...

Re: Who do you recommend for cylinder and crank work?

Syds Cycles and DesmoPro are US (Florida) based Ducati bevel specialists. I recall there was a shop in Minnesota too. I think that we have members of the list that have or work at bevel-knowledgeable shops. However, you should solicit others here for their reviews of these service providers. Also, ...

Moto Giro information submited by John Lewis

Motogiro d'Italia I did the Giro in 2016, my first ever competitive 2-wheeled motor sport event (aged 70) although before retirement I spent 40-years in rallying, driver (no skill!), co-driver (getting better!) and team manager (that’s better!), so I had a background to understand the requirements. ...

Re: Modifying Marzocchi 35mm forks

I put a 4LS hub on a 450 using a non-stock 35mm fork. The fork tubes were way too long and here in Evanston Illinois is (or was) a place called Forking by Frank. They cut the tubes down for me and threaded the ends so everything could go back together. The springs were then way too long, but I found...

Re: 450 Desmo rear hub - help!

Hi Bill, No problem, glad the forum has already been of some help to you. I selected the PDFs to include early this morning. I was sleepy and in a hurry so l just looked for anything that said “450” in the title. If you don’t have the complete parts book then the 450 parts book is likely just an add...

Re: 450 Desmo rear hub - help!

Check your email, I think you should see four emails from me containing some PDFs unless either your or my email server rejected one or more owing to their size.
