Re: 175TS with 125S engine project

photo of my DIY seat not perfect but good enough for me for what it cost. Base and long springs in good condition had to change broken coil springs

Re: 175TS with 125S engine project

I placed a sheet of 1.5mm soft rubber over springs, but not down sides,to stop springs wearing foam then made foam Base 2" thick and covered with good quality vinyl secured to bottom of frame. Feels firm but comfortable.

Re: 175TS with 125S engine project

Hi Colin. Helicoil not to difficult. Drilled hole by hand without putting to much pressure on drill. same with tap. Had to cut coil down as hole is not very deep. As the son of a Yorkshire man the hardest part was parting with £85 for the kit. I now have four spare helicoils if anyone should need one.

Re: Strada Camshaft Oil Ways

Hi Colin, reading your post with interest. Making progress slowly but surely. If you decide to reline brake shoes I have used Villiers Services and have been pleased with results, Reasonable prices. https://villiersservices.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=66 I think things will improve whe...

Sorry to hear your woes Colin. Would in-line filters on fuel pipes help carb.

Re: To rebuild a 450 engine.

Everything Hans said. I have restored six various Guzzi's. Half way through first Ducati Single. More complicated but can be done with lots of patience and help from this forum. Good luck

Re: 125TS project - Blue smoke

If bike was bought from shop as a runner surely it is for shop to put right. I would not consider a bike that oils plug enough to stop running within five minutes to be in running order

Re: 125TS project - Blue smoke

Worn piston and barrel? new rings not correct size? Replacement rings will not cure worn bore. Worn valve guides? I would remove head and barrel to check wear and if put together properly by seller.

Re: Teflon sleeve mototrans scrambler

In progress with my first Ducati Singles restoration and have doubled estimated engine rebuild cost. Be prepared for high cost before you start then perhaps it won't be so bad. Good luck with it.
