do you have the engine dismanteld yet ? there are 3 types of widecase crankshafts .

better look first what you have before ordering the wrong BE set

the smallest carb i use on a 350 is 38 mm . on my own 350 i use a 41.5 mm Malossi carb .
i use a bigger 42 mm inlet valve with a 7 mm valve stem .

Steve Mahanes swears by a VM 44 Mikuni . he also uses very large valves . i think he gets some tuning advice from Reno L

there are diff. n.c. chainguards . i had a 4 speed Diana and the rear of the guard tapered to the right into a point .

others are square at the back .

no , the 8.3 mm is the with of the shaft . Nigel wanted to know how wide the shaft was . is the shaft is wider then 10 mm orso you have to make the crankshaft flywheel narrower in order for the rod to stay clear of the flywheels .

i got my Samarin widecase rodkit today thru the dutch Samarin importer . cost 282.50 euro delivered on my doorstep . took some pics . rod is 8.3 mm wide so pretty narrow . edges are a little rough from banging around . weight of the rod is 318 grams i am putting this in a road going bike Eldert

the DU 251 ECM is for the 24 Horas type crankshaft . is uses a straight 27 mm BE pin 58.40 mm long . the cage is 27 X 35 x 18 mm. the rod is 125 mm c.t.c. i could not find info on their website about the DU 253 rodset i would ask for measuremends before ordering a rodset . BTW the Samarin Yamaha rod...

the Honda , Yamaha and Hus . conrods where used because nothing else decent was available at that time . involved a lot of work . custom made bigend pins . narrowing the flywheel cheeks for the wider rod and rebalance the assy again . for a road going bike i would fork out 290 euro for a rodset from...
