Re: direct replacement 6 Volt rectifier for Monza

A friend of the forum named Robert Ostman was kind enough to point out some mistakes I made when I created a schematic for the regulator. I believe Robert's schematic changes to be accurate and an improvement on what I had done and I thank him for his contribution as it will benefit us all. You will...

Re: direct replacement 6 Volt rectifier for Monza

My schematic is a little bit wrong. There are a pair of high power diodes and a pair of low power diodes. I will try to publish an updated schematic tonight. There is a very high likelihood that if one of the diodes has failed, it will be one of the high power diodes. Those diodes are out of product...

Re: regulator info

Could you post a picture? Your description isn't bringing to my mind anything I have seen before, but maybe with a photo I or someone else will recognize it.

Re: regulator info

Is it the regulator you are trying to replace? The black brick that mounts on the frame under the front of the saddle? I don't know of any replacements for it. It's only got two "active" components (semiconductors) inside: two diodes. The rest of it is just wire windings on a common iron c...

You might think about taking a cell phone video and posting it here or on YouTube with a link here as the audio track may help forum members make a better diagnosis.

Re: New to the forum and vintage Ducatis

Welcome to the forum. I don't know that DellOrtos are as troublesome as their reputation would lead you to believe, I've only found the SSI29 to be temperamental and a bit crude insomuch as the amount of adjustments you can make to it are few. Perhaps my slide or the carb body are too badly worn to ...

Re: New 350 owner/help ID a 66

My 250 had an issue wherein the kick start was not engaging with the rachet. The short term kick-start solution for me was to tip the bike towards me as I stood on the bike's right hand side after which I would tip it back onto the center stand. This would give positive engagement for the subsequent...
