Re: rocker not centered on valve

I have a widecase mark 3 350 and it has adjusters but not like in the pic. Seems a bit strange to have an adjuster as well as a shim cap.

Re: Bottom bevel bearings.

If the cases are heated and the bearings are kept in the freezer overnight they should drop in.

Re: Motogiro d'Italia Advice Needed

A bit late to say this but a well respected single specialist, when I told him I was going to do plug chops to check the carb / mixture, told me, never remove the plug from a hot engine, only when cold. This of course makes plug chopping out of the question. I would be interested in hearing the opin...

Re: crankcase wont split

Rudge motorcycles specified C3 bearings to give running clearance when the cases cool and grip the outer ring.
So they have been around a long time.

Re: Cleaning the crankshaft of widecase engine

From my experience the centrifugal filtering in the crank shaft / flywheels is such that it will be nearly solid. The only way to clean it out properly is a complete stripdown. Trying to remove it insitu as in A will not remove all the residue and will disturb bits that could enter the big end. in B...

Re: 175TS Fork Strip Question

Hi Jason, You mention a groove in the fork top nuts, but no "O" ring. In fact I think there should be an "O" ring there. On my 31.5 mm forks one top nut "O" ring was damaged, you have to feed them in carefully when replacing the top nuts. Oil was appearing around the fo...

Re: checking engine oil pressure

Am I right in thinking that, if a rev counter is fitted it acts in the same way. The flat of the drive covers the hole but allows some oil thru?

Re: 175TS in UK

I have Electrex alternator fitted to my 350 and 250. Always a fully charged battery, good lights, excellent. My 350 was original 6v, I fitted an led headlight and noticed it pulsing at low revs, fitted the 12v conversion, no pulsing. (I admit I live near where they are made but I have no connection,...

Re: 175TS Fork Strip Question

Hi Jason, Do one leg at a time. Open up the split in bottom steering yolk and hold it open with a wedge (screwdriver?). Screw the top nuts in a few turns and, with a soft mallet, give them a few taps and that should get it moving. The binding may be caused by the positioning of the lower legs on the...
