Re: 175 TS Speedo Drive Replacement

Does the end cap have anything stamped on it - mine says "18." I can vaguely remember counting the in/out turns and I think it was 18-10 but can't find anything in my notes. If I get chance I might do it again. On mine the little drive tang was broken off, but I was able to carefully knock...

Re: 175TS in UK

Got hold of my knock-off main jets today, have spent a couple of hours trying progressively smaller sizes. Original was 110, and each reduction was a bit better until 102, which seemed same as 104. Dropping to 100 brought back a little hesitation at full throttle. On the basis that richer is safer, ...

Re: Motogiro d'Italia Advice Needed

Timing might work, as we have a factory shutdown at end of May normally. Will casually mention at home sometime. Although my other half isn’t interested in motorcycles, she likes Italy.

Re: 175TS in UK

Day off work waiting for the DVLA man to come, so spent the morning trying needles out. I drew the profiles out on graph paper to work out which were richer or leaner and worked through in order. D29 on second notch seems best, with 266 atomiser. Start cold or warm, idles well and pulls up to almost...

Might be tempted to join you - what are dates next year?
If you’re on Facebook it might be worth asking on one of the Ducati Singles groups if no replies on here.

Re: mark 3 oil pump flow rate?

Y axis is pump output.
X axes are pump speed and engine speed. Looks like pump is driven at 1/3 of engine speed.
I opened my pump up to check the inside looked OK and also measured up against the figures in the workshop manual.

Re: crankcase wont split

I didn’t enjoy splitting my cases at all, never mind the further several times to set the shimming! First time was hardest, and I used a block of hardwood and a normal steel hammer.

Re: 175TS in UK

Yes , found those and also the various main jet kits available. I really don’t like messing with the needle as the carb has to come off due to lack of space under the tank, not to mention needing 3 hands to compress the spring and remove the cable. And the amount of fuel wasted every time I drain th...

Re: 175TS in UK

Friday afternoon I tried swapping atomisers, from 268 to 266 then 264, but with little effect. Maybe slightly better but hard to be sure. Going back to it on Saturday, it was reluctant to start from cold with the 264, so went back to 266. This afternoon it started first kick, so I’m happy with that....

Re: 175TS in UK

I did go back and read your thread to see what I could glean, although I have a 24mm carb with an air cleaner and popular wisdom seems to be that these carbs are sensitive to air inlet conditions. At the moment it seems happy with a 35 pilot jet. Started 3rd kick from cold with “choke” then 1st kick...
