Re: BRAKES

Hi Brian, My NC 67 250 linings are full length and are probably AM4 racing ,they are not much good in traffic as they only grip when well heated up. I thought they were just poor linings till I first rode the bike at racing speeds on track and woke them up. File a good bevel on the leading edge to a...

Very low charge rate 250 NC 60w converted to 12v

While riding in the Isle of Man the battery went flat, I was able to continue running providing I kept the revs up (4k) and did not use lights. Took the outputs from the alt and tested resistance and voltage ,AC output about 6v per lead, Coils are linked with earth wires taken off the plate.Modern r...

Re: SSi remote float.

Yes Matt, its there, but I find it is unreliable and inaccessible with a Mach 1 tank. It also appears to pull unevenly on the slide . I tested the tilt method to set the fuel level and it appears to work without the need for made up fittings and bits of pipe . It can also allow you to check the fuel ...

Re: SSi remote float.

I am now running with the remote , the motor seems to run better , most likely due to the old fixed chamber being very worn in the needle seat. the remote is new old stock. I have read that to check the level you just lean the bike about 10 degrees to the right and fuel should seep from the pilot ho...

Re: Prices in Australia

With those prices being asked and sometimes paid its no wonder that I seem to be the only Ducati single owner who is prepared to risk riding the thing in my area. Perhaps I should put it in a Museum , its very sad.

Re: Conrod kits ?

Its not a daft question, but the answer is complicated. You would need a re -design of the motor with a high pressure system and seals,an oil filter ,better piston rings, better head drainage, altered cam lubrication ,room for a bigger pump, a pressure release system etc. Was done on the last of the ...

Re: Dellorto PHBL 22 AS Jetting?

My thinking is that when on the move the needle and needle jet play the biggest part and you are seeing a rich plug, that would say to me that you are too rich. Richness also makes for jerky running which can make you think the fuel supply is intermittent, but its the firing thats intermitent due to ...

Re: Conrod kits ?

Nigels kit will be A 1 but will need to be fitted by someone very competant to finish up with both the correct clearances and good alignment. New parts do appear on E-bay from time to time ,usually in the USA ,but you need to be very carefull to get the right size and quality, not easy.
