Re: My Sport 48 time to rebuild!

So, went the route of reprinting the frame. It needed it badly. But love the patina of the tank and fenders to much to reprint them. So trying to keep the clean up balanced.

Re: My Sport 48 time to rebuild!

Rims- opinions? My originals are 19x1.35 as I am a European model but considering 18" as it's the only size tires I've found with original style tread. I can get Crome easy enough here but considering aluminum and so far I have found 18x1.2 18x1.4. And the most narrow in 19x1.6 I am guessing th...

Re: clipons for Ducati 2-strokes ?

The book is right on the 28mm clip ons as far as my Sport 48' is concerned. But what is the spacing on your upper triple there? From fork to fork center? I may be able to buy the whole thing from you depending on what that is and I double check what other oddball stuff we have here for another build.

Re: My Sport 48 time to rebuild!

I share your pain on the restoration/preservation approach. Yeah, but you could at least give it a clean, Kev ... :D :o :P :P (Sorry - cheap shot, but couldn't resist ...  ) To be honest, even in that state, it's still as pretty as pretty can be ... Lol yeah Kev washing won't cause ...

Re: My Sport 48 time to rebuild!

Here are some pics of the wheels for my Sport 48. They are 18 inch rims as Craig pointed out. I am also interested in the front fork shrouds. The pic that Craig posted show a difference between a bike with clipon's versus one with handle bars ? No idea what happened to my first reply to this? Yeah ...

Re: My Sport 48 time to rebuild!

Well got home and started tearing the bike down. To clean up and get ready for engine build. Spark plug currently in the head : Magneti Marelli CW240N <--- need to decode their numbering system. Carb : Dellorto UA 15S Ignition : coil and wires still factory original. Little round MOT registration ty...

Re: My Sport 48 time to rebuild!

Ventedue, I was in Montpellier last fall! It was a great trip! Thank you that answers a lot of my questions. Let me know if you find a place to upload that owners manual. A detailed parts list would do most all I need short of torq specs for engine bolts. Locals here said they'd write that down for ...

Re: Cadet Restoration Project

Mike, could you take a close up of your hub and lower fork so I can compare to what's on my Sport 48. From what I see in your first picture I think this is what I have. What size are your hubs? 90 or 105? I'm starting to find who has what stock piled here in Sicily I may be able to help with finding...

My Sport 48 time to rebuild!

For now it's happy in my house. I've already had some pretty good luck finding parts. Not 100% sure what year. Seams as I've begun my research my forks seem to be Cadet forks based on pictures and responses from one shop. About the only differences I see are the way the fender is attached and the br...
