Re: Narrowcase clutch pushrod

Mine has two sections of rod and two balls as per the manual and works fine. Maybe the bagged parts included a spare section of rod that the previous owner had just stuck in there and the balls had gone missing? Whatever, I'd go by the manual, the two sections of rod are different lengths, one long ...

Re: Dellorto PHBL 22 AS Jetting?

Just a quick update on the jetting in progress. Having followed all the advice you guys have given, I can now report the following positive developments. With a .35 idle jet fitted, together with a .40 choke jet and the lighter 6.5 gram floats, the bike will now start easily from cold with full chok...

Re: Alternative Carb for 175 TS Narrow case?

Interesting reading and I'd like to know how you get on with them. I've actually bought a Dellorto PHBL22AS since I posted this thread, as it seemed to give me the easiest fitting as it goes straight onto the existing manifold stub. However, I'm now being inducted into the mystical, painstaking and ...

Re: Dellorto PHBL 22 AS Jetting?

Hi Bob, thanks for giving me some confidence in my gut feeling, I think I'm going to order up athe 260k and a choke jet maybe half the size of the one fitted too. Does anyone have any experience of needle jet kits, made for Dellorto carbs, by a company called BGM? They seem to supply many of the Lam...

Re: Dellorto PHBL 22 AS Jetting?

Hi Bob, that's a very good point! I must admit that being a bit hot and bothered by the time I got back (having spent all morning playing around with the idle settings!), that I completely forgot to pull the plug before I shut the garage door and walked away for a break. After your suggestion, I've ...

Re: Dellorto PHBL 22 AS Jetting?

Hi Chaps, A more positive update on the jetting issues today :D Using Double-Diamond's (Matt's) excellent troubleshooting guide, I checked for air leaks around the carb/manifold and found that in my haste & excitement when fitting the engine to the frame for the first time, I had used one of the...

Re: Dellorto PHBL 22 AS Jetting?

Hi Matt, Fantastic advice, many thanks! Some of this I knew, or had recently learned, but some of the other things you mentioned, like the air leaks and needle jet size, are things which were either just hovering on the outside of my mind, or which I was completely unaware of. Many thanks for the ex...

Re: Dellorto PHBL 22 AS Jetting?

Ok, I fitted each of the jets in turn, started out by resetting everything to the supplied settings each time e.g. mixture screw 1 1/4 turns out, idle speed screw 4 turns out (lifting slide a tad) and still no joy  Result of methodical experimentation was the same as before. Screw the mixture ...

Re: Dellorto PHBL 22 AS Jetting?

Just an update to your suggestions: 1. Double-checked timing and static timing is spot on. It was also firing up and. Idling ok with the old carb, although that was flooding easily too. 2. Double checked the position of the slide and I did try to start it at the very bottom of it's travel, as I had ...
