Re: Alternative Carb for 175 TS Narrow case?

Hi Ian, thanks for the info regarding the Dellorto carb. I actually phoned Eurocarb up this week, but only got to speak to some young lad that didn't sound very sure about anything and said I should wait until 'Rob' got back from holiday in a couple of weeks! Perhaps using the model you suggest woul...

Alternative Carb for 175 TS Narrow case?

Hi Guys, Well my restoration is nearing completion and the bike has passed it's MOT this week. That's the good news! However, this first ride on the road showed that despite working methodically through all the carb settings, for what seems like forever, the bike displays conflicting symptoms, which...

Re: Narrow Case AC vs DC coil

I've just purchased a DC coil from Classic Ducati here in the UK and the posts are indeed marked + and -, the same as the original Ducati coil that I had with the bike (175TS). Hope I'm right in connecting the ignition feed to the + and the points connection to the -. The coil was never attached whe...

Re: Shopping for front and rear tires

That's good to know Ranton! I asked for advice at my local bike shop in Taunton yesterday, when picking up my Monster from it's MOT and they said that providing there was enough clearance, then there should be no problem doing the same thing. It widens my choice of tyres and going up to a 3.00 on th...

Re: Shopping for front and rear tires

Is it just me, or is it really difficult to find a 2.5 X 18 front tyre, as originally fitted to the 175 narrow cases? Heidenau seems to be one of the few that do both. seems to be a choice available in 2.75 X 18, but the narrower size not so much? Does it even matter if I use the larger size I wonder?

Re: 175TS Electrical Puzzles - Please Help!

Further update on the rollercoaster ride of electrical problems! Having celebrated what I though was a minor victory, upon putting the headlamp shell back together the main fuse started to blow again. After another couple of hours poring over the wiring diagram and methodically trobleshooting, my so...

Re: Bevel Drive Housing

I had my crank stripped and inspected by Brian Silver of Moto Marianna, a Ducati Singles specialist here in the UK. However I understand that he has now retired due to ill health. I believe you need a hydraulic press to actually get the crank apart and the knowledge and skill to align and reassemble...

Re: checking engine oil pressure

That's to be expected, as your never going to get much pressure at kick-over speeds. What you have proved is that oil is indeed completing it's normal circuit, which is a good thing! Kick it over another dozen times to make sure that the oil pump is fully primed and go for it! If your ultra cautious...

Re: 175TS Electrical Puzzles - Please Help!

Just thought I'd update this post to let you know that I've finally got the headlamp to work. After working my way through the power supply from the battery to the main headlamp switch with a multimeter, I found that one of the 'forks' that makes the conections on the circuit board, was only making ...

Re: 175TS Electrical Puzzles - Please Help!

Thanks for the reply Bob, glad I'm not the only one to be baffled by Ducati electrics  The bike should really be about as simple as it can get but the Italians appear to think otherwise  When you say you connected the earth wires to the coil together when converting to 12v, what did you c...
