Re: Torque wrench settings 250 strada

Ducati recommends Viton (DuPont) or FPM quality for these O-rings, a chemically stable rubber usable at very high temperatures. Some sorts of silicone might not be 100% resistant against hot engine oil, or the additives.

Re: 175TS in UK

Finished all the wiring and connected battery up last weekend. Everything works but doesn't charge. Alternator makes electricity, at least enough to light an H3 bulb connected across to earth from each wire. But doesn't seem to suit the new Reg-Rec unit. Unless I have any new ideas, I'll be orderin...

Re: Spark Plug Length on 350

Hi, whenever I have seen this solution for a plug thread repair, it had more or less failed. Always caused trouble like loosening, not gas-tight, etc. In the past i succeded using the following inserts, which moreover do not reduce the plug's reach by a too large amount, or even at all: http://www.t...

Re: 175TS in UK

Best working for me allways have been the bonded seals https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonded_seal. They work on rough surfaces, are reusable, do not sag, are even pressure-tight and available with an inner or outer seal, in metric and imperial dimensions.

Re: Regulator/rectifier 250 strada

AFAIK the 250 Strada (as well as the 350 Forza/Vento) have 12 Volt/2 phase systems, with 3 wires coming from the alternator. If so with your bikes, any 12V-2phase regulator-rectifier will fit, like those for the DUCATI parallel twins, early bevel twins, Pantah 500 etc. Also the Saprisa R-R used in v...

Re: 250 engine locknut set

I suppose both locking methods are OK, but more important is that one should apply some polymer thread locker like LOCTITE to the clean and oil-free threads. This results in a highly improved security against loosening. Up to now, I stayed with the tabs, as I still have a lot of them in stock. The f...

Re: 28tooth cam gear dimensions

12.8mm front to back. 4.15mm from the back face of the gear. Seem to be identical. These are from a widecase 350.

Have you checked valves and seats ? And have you measured your piston and cylinder bore diameters?

Re: 250 strada front wheel

The thread pitch, on a 250Mk3 or Monza, is 1.25mm, the thread dia. is 12mm, which is listed as a metric fine type.
